Monika White, Ph.D.

Board Chair & Co-Founder

HelpGuide co-founder Monika White, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized educator, researcher, and speaker in the field of aging. Prior to her retirement, she was the president and CEO of the Center for Healthy Aging and an adjunct professor of gerontology at the USC Davis School of Gerontology. A leading authority on care management for older adults and their families, she lectures and consults around the world on topics including healthy aging, caregiving, and eldercare services.

Over the course of a nearly 50-year career, Monika focused on coordinating health and community-based service delivery systems for older adults and their families. She continues to serve on several boards and committees, including as Chair of the Los Angeles City Department on Aging Foundation. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her contributions to the fields of Social Work and Aging. In 2020, she was inducted into the California Social Work Hall of Distinction.

In her spare time, Monika enjoys playing the banjo with her husband, a fiddle player, and her twin sister, who plays guitar and bass. Retired from professional performances, they often play for music festivals and private events.
